COVID-19….
I usually do not panic or get worked up about things. I have been through a lot in life and the many personal tragedies have left me a little battle-hardened.
This virus thingamajing has got me concerned. I have never seen an event impact so many people before. People are panic-shopping in my city. It is unreal.
The true scale of these events became real to me once my favorite sports leagues started to postpone their seasons right as the race to the playoffs has begun. The NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS, and others are on hiatus. The feeling is eerie.
Thursday, a day after the World Health Organization (WHO) proclaimed the outbreak a pandemic, the panic set in around the city. It all became real to me when our company asked us to work from home Friday.
I have always wanted to work from home and avoid the crazy commute, but I did not want it to come as a result of something so sinister.
I spent Friday at home relaxing, then working, then relaxing and studying. I could get used to this to be honest.
I do worry about the spread of this virus. I really do hope that things subside sooner rather than later. I never before thought that something like this would happen during my lifetime.
