Welcome to my blog about nothing. In this world, nothing can also mean everything. Originally inspired by thoughts while walking along the banks of the Don River in Toronto, this blog now also draws inspiration from the Han River in Seoul, Sumida in Tokyo, and other rivers I have frequented.
My time spent alone along river banks enables me to think about everything and nothing. It is where I find peace and inspiration.
Having been born and raised in a city which sits on the shore of one of he Great Lakes in North America, I have always loved cities which are on lakes, oceans, or rivers. Many of the world’s greatest cities are situated around the banks of majestic rivers.
London, England spans both sides of the River Thames. Seoul, South Korea has the Han River flowing through it. The more historic side of the city is on its north shores while the more modern is to the south. The Sumida is a river which runs through Tokyo, Japan. New York City has the Hudson River.
Toronto is a different case. While it sits on the north shore of Lake Ontario, it contains several lush ravines encompassing rivers and streams. The largest and longest of these are the Humber River in the west end, both branches of the Don River towards the centre, and the Rouge River in the east end.
This blog while inspired by my time along riverbanks, is not about rivers. It is about anything that flows through my mind like the water flows through rivers.
Please enjoy.
